Background

Mason Chock is one of six County Council Members on the island of Kaua‘i in Hawai‘i. His work with environmentalism is mainly focused on integrating environmentally friendly processes into local communities. He is helping Kaua‘i achieve energy goals of 70% renewable energy generation by 2030 and 100% by 2045. He also works on food sustainability by encouraging sustainable practices on the part of local farmers and local consumers. Chock is the owner of Kupu a‘e, a business that encourages local community members, especially youth, to develop leadership skills so that they can effect local change.
